Elena Reese, M.A.

Supervisory Archaeologist, Historic Archaeologist

Elena ReeseElena Reese is a project supervisor specializing in Historical Archaeology and Historic Research for Pacific Legacy.  She received her M.A. in Archaeology from Boston University in 1986.  She received her B.A. in Ancient History with a minor in 19th Century English History from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1980.  Ms. Reese has over twenty years of experience in archaeology and cultural resource management in Northern and Central California.  She has worked on numerous historic and prehistoric projects in capacities including surveys and site recording; record and information searches; historic research for historic contexts and artifact analysis; site excavation and evaluation; construction monitoring; artifact cataloguing; and artifact illustration.  She has written and coauthored numerous reports including historic documentation and artifact interpretation, evaluations for eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places and the California Register of Historic Resources, survey, testing, and data recovery.  In her role as a supervisor for fourteen years, she has directed excavations and surveys, coordinated construction monitoring programs for large projects, trained new archaeologists in field methods, lab methods, historic research techniques, and report production.
